The Chelsea boot is the lace-free ankle boot recognizable by its elastic side gussets that make it easy to wear: you slip it on by pulling the back tab, and the elastic does the rest, adapting to the shape of your foot. Nubuck is leather buffed on the grain side, giving it a very short nap: it has the velvety look of suede but a more compact, resistant surface, since it retains the outer layer of the hide. Here the grain remains visible, and over time the color develops an uneven patina that is part of the material's character, not a flaw. The sole is what defines this model: a rubber platform sole with a block heel, a deep-lugged tread, and a bumper strip running along the entire perimeter to protect the edge of the upper.
