Michael Kors Daniela women's ankle boot in leopard print ponyskin, with tapered toe and 8 cm conical heel. Ponyskin is leather tanned with the hair left on: short, dense and glossy, it has a distinct nap direction and shifts in sheen depending on how it catches the light. Here it's printed with a leopard pattern in shades of dark camel, beige and black. The hair gives the print a depth that a smooth printed leather doesn't have. The construction seams are finished with a slim black smooth leather trim. Near the top edge, on the outer side, there's a gold-tone metal button with the MK monogram. The shaft is fitted and rises just above the ankle, with no folds or decorations. The side zip makes it easy to put on and take off without forcing the instep. The conical heel is wide where it meets the heel of the foot and tapers toward the ground. It stands 8.5 cm tall and, compared to a stiletto of the same height, has a slightly wider base. Under the toe there's a 5 mm platform, which slightly reduces the actual height difference between heel and forefoot. The tapered toe elongates the line of the foot and leg. Inside, the lining and insole are made of synthetic material. The sole is rubber, with the house monogram repeated in relief as a tread pattern under the forefoot. Ponyskin should never get wet and shouldn't be brushed against the grain: to clean it, simply wipe with a dry cloth in the direction of the hair. The leopard print is the focal point of the outfit, so it's best to keep the rest of the look in solid colors. It pairs well with dark straight-leg or slim-fit jeans, tailored black trousers, and midi skirts or dresses in black, camel or grey.
