BIRKENSTOCK uses leather between 2.8 and 3.2 millimeters thick for the upper. The soft and flexible leather insole gently molds to the foot, conforming to its contours. The open-pored and therefore particularly breathable surface ensures the right foot climate even during intense physical activity.
Footbed material: Cork is a renewable raw material obtained from the bark of the cork oak. This natural product insulates against heat and has excellent cushioning properties.
Outsole: EVA (ethylene vinyl acetate) is a high-quality, particularly light and elastic plastic with extraordinary cushioning properties. It can compensate for slight irregularities in the ground and gently cushions steps while walking.
